Heccies Hoops is an 8-week introductory basketball program for boys and girls aged 5-11 years. The program focuses on developing fundamental basketball skills, movement, coordination and game understanding through engaging activities and age-appropriate coaching.
Sessions are structured to build confidence with the ball, improve decision-making and introduce the core skills needed for gameplay all in a fun and supportive environment. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or looking to further develop their skills, Heccies Hoops provides a strong foundation for future participation.
As the club’s primary beginner pathway for juniors, Heccies Hoops serves as an optional feeder program into the Saturday domestic basketball competition for those ready to play in a team environment for Heccies Basketball. Check out our FAQ page to find out more.
We encourage participants to come along with friends, make new connections and discover what community basketball is all about.
Please note: Parents are required to stay for the duration of the session to support their child’s experience. Coaching is run by our paid club coaches.
